| | Dave Matthews Band - Crush | ] | Back from my first business trip to Pittsburgh - there are advantages both to me and to my employer in being from the same town as the headquarters. I get to fly home for free and they get to save on hotel fare.
Mom and I bought her first Apple computer - a 14 inch refurbished iBook. I can't believe I'm actually pitching Macs - I used to be such a hardcore PC head.
I'm starting the feel the press of the upcoming move. I brought home the first set of packing boxes tonight, and I'm officially "done" with my current apartment in my mind. We take over the new place in a week, and we need to move my stuff in two. I have a lot to do between then and now.
I can't believe it's almost Christmas. That's ridiculous. I have two Yankee Swaps to shop for in the next week, and a third for Xmas eve. Gah. |

Ok, now I really am done. My paper isn't graded yet, but it's definitely a passing paper, so I'm DONE. |

My photo taking skills at events pale in comparison to Alex, but we got a few:

As I predicted, the cute shoes were wicked uncomfortable. The price we pay for fashion. |

I'm dragging Jere to RENT on Sunday after the wedding in NYC. It's going to be AWESOME. I've so got RENT on the head with the movie coming out. But tickets are sooo expensive. I have spent sooo much money this past week. |

| | The Chieftains & Sinéad O'Connor - The Foggy Dew | ] | I'm finally feeling a bit more human and less slug-like. I got another of my drawings down for Scene Design, meaning I'm a scant one drawing from my MIT degree. If I'm feeling particularly inspired this afternoon I'll start on it, but I've already fulfilled my one drawing per weekend quota so I get a break if I want one.
I went for a bike ride just now in the beautiful 70 degree fall air, which was quite nice. I bought this really goofy looking bike seat called the Spongy Wonder (goofy sounding too). See http://www.spongywonder.com. Feels fantastic! No more saddle-sore! It throws your balance a bit because you're used to being able to lean the bike with your upper thighs, but I'm confident I'll get used to it. I highly recommend it! |

[Oct. 27th, 2005|07:52 am] |
So I made a cranberry apple pie last weekend on a whim, and it actually turned out really well. I just took a regular apple pie recipe and dumped in a bunch of whole cranberries. If I made it again though I'd mince the cranberries first - the sugar can't get inside them when they're whole so they're still really tart. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing but can turn some people off. |

Today I e-mail my landlord and roomies and start planning the new roommate search. Can't take pictures until I clean up a bit though... |

| | Wayne Wonder - No Letting Go (Diwali Riddim) | ] | So Jere and I found the almost perfect apartment we were looking for in Melrose, and now we have to wait until another group goes to see it tomorrow and (hopefully) the landlords choose us over them (assuming they even make an offer). TENSE. I don't deal with suspense well, especially when it's over something I really want.
I was on the T coming home tonight and was struck with how your perspective can completely change. Specifically, I was thinking that I used to only set foot on the Orange Line when I was going to Target with Brian, and it always seemed like Wellington was so far away from Downtown Crossing. Now I take it every day and it's just a skip and jump really, especially compared to what my commute could be (and will be if we get this apartment.. please please please..). Just funny how things change over time. |
